Group Financial Crime & Int. Sanctions Specialist

Group Financial Crime Unit is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the following compliance risks among the Generali Group:

  • Money laundering
  • Terrorism financing
  • International sanctions
  • Anti-bribery & corruption
  • FATCA/ CRS

The role holder, directly reporting to Group Head of Financial Crime, is accountable mainly for the following activities:

Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing

  • Analysis and interpretation of the international standards and EU/ Italian requirements concerning anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing providing advices the Group Entities
  • Develop and maintain group policies, guidance and procedures in accordance with international standards and EU/ Italian requirements
  • Monitor the implementation of Group Standards in the Group Entities
  • Perform a risk assessment to understand the inherent risk of the business, the controls in place and the residual risks for Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.
  • Mitigate the risks of money laundering and financing terrorism through the definition, implementation and execution of second level controls in Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.
  • Conduct controls in Group Entities analyzing the results, defining the corrective actions, monitoring the implementation plans in close collaboration with local relevant structures, as well as generating periodic reports
  • Perform the mandatory group risk assessment on anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing
  • Perform the specific controls targeted at preventing terrorism financing (i.e. verification of individuals/ institutions/ credit transfers included in the so called “Lists”) and regularly monitor the implementation and the effectiveness of the screening tool
  • Analyze evidences and information flows from and to the Group Entities
  • Supporting the Group MLRO in analysis of the suspicious transactions reported by Group Entities

International Sanctions

  • Analysis and interpretation of the international standards and EU/ Italian requirements concerning international sanctions, providing advices the Group Entities
  • Perform the specific activities targeted at preventing international sanctions (i.e. verification of individuals/ institutions/ credit transfers included in the Lists and analysis of transactions from/ to Countries affected by embargoes/ restrictive measures) and monitor the implementation and the effectiveness of the screening tool in the Group Entities
  • Advise Group Entities on necessary decisions relating to applicable restrictions involving countries, organizations, individuals, companies or activities associates with high financial sanctions risks
  • Perform a risk assessment to understand the inherent risk of the business, the controls in place as mitigation actions and the residual risks for Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.
  • Mitigate the risks of breaching international sanctions measures through the definition, implementation and execution of second controls in Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.
  • Conduct controls in Group Entities analyzing the results, defining the corrective actions, monitoring the implementation plans in close collaboration with local relevant structures, as well as generating periodic reports
  • Analyze evidences and information flows from and to the Group Entities

Accountabilities in common within the above risks areas

  • Promote a compliance culture within the company and the Group
  • Collect the needs for implementation and review of processes and related IT tools, defining the concept of target processes, priorities and functional features, in case of new regulatory requirements or changes in the regulations, evolution of structures or detected gaps
  • Development and delivery of training tailored to ensure group standards are fully understood and implemented
  • Maintain accurate and easily accessible training materials and records
  • Review new product and business initiatives and evaluate the impact on the relevant risks in the scope
  • Interface with Internal Audit and other control functions, and facilitating queries and data requests as relevant

Competenze ed esperienze richieste

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

Must have

  • At least 8 years’ experience in Financial Services or 5 years in AML/CTF and international sanctions topics
  • Experience in a consultant firm or in complex and challenging environment (i.e., large organizations)
  • Fluency in English and Italian (both written and oral)

Nice to have

Anti-bribery & corruption and FATCA/ CRS knowledge

  Soft Skills

  • Ability to operate in a large financial group, build relationships across business lines, strong communications skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret regulations, regulatory guidance and apply such in a practical manner in an operational environment
  • Ability to conduct gap analysis and implement action plan
  • Strong team building skills
